A Sneak Peek At The Upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on Playstation Portable and PSP Go
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010Both the Sony PSP and PSP Go are set to welcome a new gaming addition this Spring with the releasing of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The famous gaming franchise returns to the portable system in this highly anticipated title. Remember we have experienced Metal Gear for the PSP beforenow, in the form of Portable Ops a couple of years ago, but this is the first incarnation that will be directed by the genius behind the famous franchise; Hideo Kojima, and this can only be a great thing.
The game takes place in the aftermath of the occurrences of Metal Gear Solid 3, with players returning to play as the original Snake, who has become ‘Big Boss’. Unlike Portable Ops, the game is considered as official canon in the Metal Gear Solid universe. The gameplay follows the basis set out in prior incarnations, with a major emphasis on subterfuge. The over-the-shoulder angle of Metal Gear 4 debuts in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, making a mixture of some of the finest features of prior games.
The gameplay is based around a co-op core, following suit with most of our current games in placing greater importance on co-operation. This is implemented thr oughout Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker in both solo campaigns and multi-player games, with a variety of different ‘Snakes’ to choose between. These differentiations range from a stealth bias to heavy weapons expert, allow ing players to co-ordinate abalanced troupe.
The title marks the first of 2 games to be released into the Metal Gear universe during this year, with the Raiden-centric Metal Gear Solid Rising being released for next gen consoles later on. Kojima productions have created one brilliant game by the name of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, combining all the classic elements of past titles into an innovative new gameplay. The graphics and audio are polished to the highest calibre and the plot sounds as if it will be, as usual, completely epic.
