Snes Video Games
Wednesday, October 28th, 2009Snes Video Games
There have been hundreds of sports video games throughout the year. In less than forty years, we've gone from Pong to MLB 2K6 for Xbox 360. But the evolution games are not always translated into better games. Just because a game has flashy GUIs and better, not necessarily good gameplay. That is why many PS2 and Xbox games are doomed to remain in the containers outside your local game store, while classics as NHL 94 and Tecmo Super Bowl following the obsessed sports fans. Here are my top 10 of all time:
10. Jordan vs. Bird (NES) – was the only-in-one game that much? No, not really. Dunk contest But the game has been innovative with the three points and hit long before it was presented elsewhere. For this reason alone, deserves a place in the Top 10.
9. Madden 2005 (PS2, Xbox, GC) – The jump from '04 to '05 has been enormous. Hit-'05 presented the lever, and the defensive midfielder to achieve control of the defense tied with the crime. Franchise mode is essentially the same as '04, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. My favorite thing to do is to build a team from scratch. I love taking the worst team in the league and their creation in a power plant. You can move in a new city and build a new stadium, then draft real college players from NCAA '05. Overall, I liked this game more than any other Madden. 2006 alone has not improved enough in this game for me.
8. Punch-Out (NES) – what the child born in the 70's or early 80's not spent hours and hours trying to beat Tyson with Little Mac?
7. Madden '94 (Genesis, SNES) – Based on the memory of this game was impressive. I remember being able to play with all the NFL teams and much conventional computer. He was one of my favorite games growing sport. That said, I played recently and it sucks. He can not approach Similarly, the celebration of their own against Tecmo Super Bowl. The transition is not realistic, and the operation is to hit the button to launch several occasions, while defenders bounce your broker. So high that if I remember enjoying as a child.
6. NBA Live '95 (Genesis, SNES) – This game could not have been realistic at all, but it was incredibly fun to ride and get the shots place three courts and throwing alley-oops. This was the first NBA game from EA with each team and each scenario also scores it points. Not to mention, was the first game with the camera in 3 / 4 angle.
5. NFL Blitz (Arcade) – The football version of NBA Jam. Rapid Assessment Visit afternoon and the crazy rules like being able to run multiple forward passes behind the line of scrimmage, making this great game. The arcade version was waaaay better than the PS or N64 versions.
4. NBA Jam (Arcade) – Between the arcade version and the console versions, I played a lot of NBA Jam. It is one of the most original games ever. Who does not enjoy beating the shit out of people in the air or hitting three after three years when they were on fire? This game completely undermined. The best part was to get all the codes and playing with pets and Bill Clinton.
3. Little League Baseball (NES) – I do not know why this game does not receive more attention as one of the best NES sports games. The gameplay is the best any NES baseball game – pitching, batting, Fielding and all feel relatively simple and realistic. Also there are only fun and unique play-bit gamers. Provided I know it's the only league game of baseball forever, but I could be wrong. Adding to the excitement, some devices are much better than others. Want a challenge? Try to win a tournament with Italy, the worst team in the game. The replay value of LLB is unbelievable, I still Play it day.
2. NHL 94 (Genesis, SNES) – I love modern games in the NHL, as far as the next guy, but this game is the best. I still play all the time. The quality of play is incredible. Remove the plastic wrap around the easy goals, and the gameplay is amazingly real, especially given the length this part. Oh, and for the record, they play NHL 93 in Swingers, but talk of the abolition of fighting in NHL 94. Weird huh?
1. Tecmo Super Bowl (NES) – This game was well ahead of his time – played editable and show long-term follow-up were so cool back then. The gameplay is far from realistic, but surprisingly the same. For this reason, the game is still very popular and there are tons of people who still play in leagues Online. The advent of emulators has allowed the publication of lists – I've played versions of the game lists as recently as 2004. There are also versions with lists of university and lists USFL. The strange little quirks like Bo Jackson game is unstoppable balls bounce in all sense, the choice of plays defensive guess the offensive play, 100 yards passing, etc. make the game more fun. This game never, never gets old.
