Halo: Reach is the upcoming (and last) chapter from current production studio Bungie, bringing to an end their reign over the Xbox Halo franchise. It’s 2552 on the controlled planet Reach, and gamers once again adopt the Spartan colours as Noble 6 and, together with Noble Squad, the gamer is tasked with defending their home from the terror that is the Covenant. Moreover, Halo: Reach is a prequel to Bungie’s orignal award winning “Halo: Combat Evolved” game.

Primarily conceived to be an updated version of the Xbox Halo franchise mammoth Halo 3, the idea was dropped, Bungie urging they would redesign and improve the calibre of the Halo 3 designs. Harking back to the Halo: Combat Evolved concept ideas, this means the new weapon, armour and covenant designs in Halo: Reach will deviate dramatically from earlier entries but uphold the ethos of the Xbox Halo franchise.

Stating that Bungie will not cap the Xbox Halo franchise without fireworks, the producers are looking to dramatically improve the graphical quality of all gaming areas, even including the weaponry. This obviously needed Bungie to produce a fresh new engine in Halo: Reach, with the AIbeing augmented and nudged to deliver better support for the gamer as they encounter the enemy.

So following all this talk of combining greatly improved visuals and augmented AI and designs, will Bungie depart the Xbox Halo Franchise on a high and maintain their reputation for creating the finest FPS for the Xbox 360? The way to find out is to grab a copy when it comes out in the coming months!
